| Cortex
will run on a PC platform under a MS Windows operating
system. It has |
|
been tested under MS Windows 98SE, 2000, ME, XP (Home
and Pro). However |
|
we recommend that WindowsXP or later is used especially
if video processing |
|
functions are required e.g. for multiple camera support. |
| |
| Cortex
should be run on a machine with at least a Pentium
III (or equivalent) |
| processor,
256MB RAM, VGA graphics adapter and 50MB of hard disk
space |
|
minimum. It should be noted that Cortex archives object
activity data for each |
| day,
so extra hard disk space should be allocated, especially
for high volumes |
| of
data or on larger systems.
A typical figure is 0.5-1Mb per day |

| In
addition, support for speech synthesis and recognition
requires installation |
|
of SAPI4 or SAPI5 compliant
speech engines. Cortex has been tested using |
|
IBM ViaVoice and MS Speech Engines. The latter can
be
downloaded for free |
from Microsoft's website
or from our own
