Case Study 2 - Cottage Renovation

Case Study 2 — Cottage Renovation

Case Study 3

The installation formed part of a major renovation of two former cottages which were substantially enlarged.

Our client was initially looking for a means to control his underfloor heating which consisted of 16 separate zones. The addition of a separate boiler house, heat store and solar panels made the flexible approach that is offered by IDRANet/Cortex ideal for the project.

Once the full power of the IDRANet/Cortex system was realised the client added several other automation features. This includes the ability to automate extractor fans and heated towel rails as well as to balance the complex hot water arrangements. The lighting through the whole property was also automated, linked into IDRANet/Cortex presence tracking which leads to benefits both in comfort and in energy savings.

IDRATEK worked with the client to design the most suitable installation for his needs. During the first fit electrical stage, our engineers pre-installed the CAT5 cabling ready to install the modules at a later date. Upon completion of the decorating IDRATEK finished the project by providing an engineer to complete the module installation, set up Cortex and commission the system.
